The Chicago Housing Authority’s scope of work was to renovate and modernize the 8 story Armour Square 3250 S. Wentworth Apartment building.
All 91 of the tenant units and common areas were renovated, converting 4 existing units into ADA dwelling units. All necessary repairs and upgrades were performed to the building’s mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems including installation of an emergency generator, replace fire protection equipment and provide fire protection system in the trash chute and compactor room.
Upgrades to the site included resurfacing/re-stripping of parking lots, planting new trees and shrubs and landscaping. Renovation of tenant units included, but not limited to, new VCT flooring and vinyl base, kitchen cabinets, a stainless steel single compartment sink, kitchen faucet, kitchen range and range hood, aluminum double-hung windows with balances manufactured by Uplift and low “E” glass, interior and entrance doors, bi-fold closet doors, three piece fiberglass shower surround, and bathroom fixtures.
New security system and new trash enclosures were provided. Building façade restoration will include tuck-pointing and concrete repairs.
